Overview

Product management in Fusion is a core functionality that enables organizations to control and organize their technical resources and customer licenses. This documentation provides a comprehensive overview of how products are managed within the Fusion platform.

Access and Permissions

Product management is restricted to users with group administrator privileges. This ensures that sensitive resource allocation and product configurations are handled by authorized personnel only.

Product Categories

Fusion's product management system is organized into two distinct categories, each serving different purposes in the platform's ecosystem:

Technical Resources

Technical resources represent the foundational elements that can be allocated to subscriptions within Fusion. These resources form the building blocks of your service offerings and can be distributed across your organization's subscriptions as needed.

Available Technical Resources

The platform supports various types of technical resources, including:

  1. Numbers Entitlements: These are allocated phone numbers spanning different countries, allowing for international telecommunications capabilities.

  2. Microsoft Teams Integration:

    • Teams seats for user allocation
    • This is used by the MS Teams module and are consumed by MS Team's users with active phone number assigned
  3. SIP Trunking:

    • SIP Trunking seats for voice communications
    • Essential for managing your trunking capacity

Additional technical resources can be configured based on your organization's specific needs and service offerings.

Customer's Licenses

Customer's licenses represent a more specialized category of resources designed specifically for Microsoft Teams integration and resource account management. These licenses serve a crucial role in organizing and grouping users within your service infrastructure.

Key Features of Customer's Licenses

  • User Assignment: Licenses can be directly assigned to:

    • Microsoft Teams Users
    • Resource Accounts
  • Organizational Benefits:

    • Enables logical grouping of users into service packs
    • Facilitates bundle creation for different service tiers
    • Streamlines resource allocation and management

Best Practices

When managing products in Fusion, consider the following recommendations:

  1. Regular Audit: Periodically review product assignments and usage to ensure optimal resource allocation.

  2. Structured Naming: Implement a consistent naming convention for your products to maintain clarity and ease of management.

  3. Documentation: Maintain records of product configurations and assignments for troubleshooting and audit purposes.
